Internal assembly: next FICEDL meeting
This is the 18th FICEDL meeting since 1979. The 17th meeting was held exactly ten years ago. These past ten years have been the longest period in which we have not been able to create assembly-based occasions to meet and exchange views on our techniques, practices and politics.
This despite the fact that individual archives and libraries in various countries have carried out a wide range of activities, in several cases becoming important points of reference for social movements and the research community.
In the decade between 2016 and 2026 the world has changed: we have had to face unprecedented political, social and technical challenges and – probably – we needed to realign ourselves. We believe that this FICEDL in Bologna, with over 30 national and international participating groups, is a sign of a renewed need for ongoing occasions of exchange.
The aim of this assembly is to lay the groundwork so that another ten years do not go by before the next meeting. Where should the next FICEDL be held? Which themes should we focus on? What other moments of exchange and sharing do we want to have throughout the year?
